The college has a dynamic, innovative and collaborative research culture which focuses on applied research in areas aligned with the needs of our local community as well as national and international research priorities. The college has a commendable research presence on the campus and there is a steady improvement in the research performance of the post-graduate students. The introduction of Career Research Initiative for faculties and students, combined with financial support from various funding agencies has had a positive impact and has promoted a research culture. The college has taken several steps to intensify research zeal amongst students, scholars and teachers by enhancing the infrastructural facilities, setting up instrumentation center, augmentation of the laboratory and library facilities, subscription for research journals, provision of free access to internet etc.

Interdisciplinary research has blossomed in the past decade, in areas like susceptibility rate of various diseases in tribal groups, effect of pesticides on human beings, health care, computer aided drug designing, microbial activity in different environmental conditions,  environmental sustainability, plant tissue culture, effect of herbal extracts on blood profile and ICT etc.

The college provides students hands-on experience doing laboratory experiments, which helps them to relate what they're learning in their classes, directly apply to real-world problems in the laboratories. The college supports students to get involved in research by providing library facilities, advanced lab facilities, Bioinformatics software and internet facilities etc.

The major steps taken to enhance the research environment among students are:    

·      Creating awareness about the basic principles and developments in Science and Technology, mainly through interactive exhibits.

·     Training teachers in developing teaching aids for science instructions with a view to improve the quality of research.

·        Undertaking scientific research in the areas of science & technology.

·        Providing research facilities for pursuing basic and applied research. 

·     Conducting research seminars, quizzes, science based contests, science exhibitions, science camps, popular lectures, events like meet your scientist, meet your medical expert, training programs and workshops for students and teachers.
